About

Hello, I’m Mairi, Founder of NeuroNest, Neurodivergent Mentor & Support Coach.

From an early age, I found comfort in the quiet company of animals. That connection led me to study Animal Science at University, and later shaped my values: compassion, empathy, and understanding without judgment.

Like many neurodivergent people, my path hasn’t followed the traditional route and I see that as a strength. I’ve worked in hospitality, offices, property lettings, and as an equine groom. I even ran my own dog grooming and pet shop business. Every role taught me something new about people, patience, and persistence.

I wasn’t always aware I was neurodivergent. For most of my life, I simply thought I was “bad at life”, overwhelmed by tasks, unable to stick to rigid systems, getting bored and needing more variety in my working life than others.

A few years ago, I recognized the signs of ADHD in myself. Understanding my neurotype brought relief and clarity. I finally had an understanding of my struggles and things started to make more sense.

I’ve lived with chronic pain since the age of 13 so I understand what it’s like to work through pain, navigate energy crashes, and balance goals with unpredictable health.

I’ve also lived through years of grief and trauma and I know how long the healing process really takes. These experiences ground me in real empathy for those carrying invisible loads.

My own lived experience of ADHD, chronic illness, and grief deeply informs how I create and share tools today. I know how it feels to push through fatigue, to be misunderstood, and to live in a world that wasn’t designed for your brain.
